Despite some recent criticisms, Costco is poised to expand, with plans to open 28 new warehouses by 2024. While Fort Pierce and Verona are relatively far from the upcoming stores, a new store in Fort Pierce will give the region even more convenient access to the chain’s extensive selection. But the customer service at Costco stores is no better than elsewhere in the country, and the overall experience can be a little disappointing.
Costco’s poor customer service
I’ve been a Costco customer for over a decade, and while the prices and quality of their products are generally top-notch, I’ve had a miserable experience with the company’s customer service in Florida. Costco is one of the largest retailers in the world, but they have become notorious for their poor customer service in the state of Florida. I’d highly recommend using a different carrier when shopping for bulk items.
There are a couple of good reasons to shop at Costco in Florida. The prices are surprisingly reasonable, and the warehouses are clean and well-maintained. The pharmacy and tire department are both highly rated. And one Costco in Auburn Hills is described as a “candy store for adults,” with a wide selection of items and a convenient location. In Florida, Costco’s customer service has a few hiccups, but if you go to one of the warehouses in Orlando, you’re guaranteed to have a good experience.
Costco’s plans to open 28 new stores in 2024
While the company has a long list of expansion plans, one of the biggest is a massive store opening in Florida. The news was expected, but the company didn’t reveal it until January. Bob Nelson, Costco’s senior vice president of finance and investor relations, announced the expansion plans to the Wall Street Journal. The news also surfaced in Best Life and Insider. The news comes as Costco reported a 16% jump in second-quarter net sales, beating analyst expectations.
The company also announced plans to open an additional eleven stores in the U.S. during 2024. It will also open locations in New Zealand, Korea, and France. In addition, it will expand into several states in the United States. In Florida, the company plans to open 11 new stores from MAY to NOVE of next year. While many cities and communities in the U.S. are in dire need of a Costco location, it’s not the only one with expansion plans.
Costco’s opening in Verona, Wisconsin
There is more good news than bad for Madison, Wisconsin. Costco has opened a new warehouse in Verona, a suburb of Madison. Although the town has a population of about 15,000, Costco believes there will be plenty of shoppers. Besides its prime beef and organic food selection, the Verona Costco will also sell wine. In addition to its new location, the area will also be the home of Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
The Verona Costco is the third Costco to open in the Madison area. It will open its doors on August 17 and run until August 2024. The new store will feature organic produce and seafood, as well as desserts, snacks, beverages, and cleaning supplies. There will also be a food court, so customers will have an opportunity to grab some delicious foods before heading home. The new Verona Costco will also offer organic produce and items for pets.
Costco’s opening in Fort Pierce
The opening of a Costco warehouse in Fort Pierce is being hailed as a boon to the local economy. The warehouse will be located at 4305 Pineda Causeway, about a quarter mile west of Interstate 95. Until now, Fort Pierce had no Costco store, but now the city hopes to lure the discount warehouse to its city. During its early stages of construction, it will include a gas station, tire center, and liquor store.
There is some controversy surrounding the new Costco, however. One social media post caused controversy, questioning the safety of the local commissions. Fortunately, the police did not pursue criminal charges against the people who posted the controversial posts. However, some people have expressed concerns over the new location, and it may affect their ability to shop at the new location. And many have also voiced their concerns about the increase in traffic that the new Costco will bring to the area.
