dirndl dress

Try braided hairstyles with a dirndl dress on Oktoberfest: Every year, a huge multitude flocks to the Bavarian city of Munich for the world’s biggest beer festival, Oktoberfest. Participants from all over the world and from the ages of 20 to 80 or so, in dirndls and lederhosen, join in for a huge party and revelry. And none was it more exciting than 2013 when a group of 25-year-old Swedish students came in dirndls along with their freshly-braided hair and made millions sit up and take notice.

Oktoberfest Hairstyle to Try with Dirndl Dress

One should practice a festive hairstyle diligently in order to be prepared for the upcoming Oktoberfest. Chewing on delicious pretzels and sipping beer stimulate the festive mood.  The dirndl is a must-have for Oktoberfest, but what complete’s your traditional costume look? A gorgeous hairstyle. Here we will present different hairstyles that will make you look like you just stepped out of the festival tent.

  • Braided crown

The braided crown is a simple and effortless way to give your hair some volume and style. This style works well for hair that is medium to long in length.

Simply braid your hair into two pigtails, which should hang low on the back of your head. Then take one pigtail over your head and pin it one inch behind your hairline. Do the same with the opposite pigtail. Make sure that it is pinned behind the first pigtail.

  • Braided hallo

The braided halo is a variation on the braided crown, with an added Game of Thrones vibe. Separate the upper portion of your hair (from your temples to the top of your head), and clip it atop your head.

French-braid two thin strands of hair from each temple and secure them with a clear elastic band. Remove the clip that was holding your upper portion of hair and make a small poof of it. Then, pin your braids at the base of the poof.

  • Fishtail braid

The fishtail braid is an ornate style that focuses on one long braid of hair. First, create a low ponytail on one side of your head, securing it with a clear elastic. Then, divide the ponytail into two sections and begin braiding.

Take a thin strand from the other section of hair and weave it around the first section. Continue bringing thin strands onto the first section until the other section is gone. Secure the end of this strand with a clear elastic and cut off the original band that held together both ponytails.

  • Flower bun

The flower bun is a great way to keep hair out of your face and look extra-stylish. Separate a one-inch strand of hair at each temple and pull the strand back. Then gather the rest of your hair at the nape of your neck and twist it into a ponytail.

Finally, wrap the separated pieces around the base of the ponytail and pin them in place with bobby pins.

Twist your braids together to create a flower-like shape, then pin them in place with a bobby pin. Curl the temple pieces around the bun and pin them down as well. Add colorful flower accessories for a finishing touch!

Other Hairstyle that Go with Your Dirndl Dress

  • Pigtail

Oktoberfest is the time when women wear their hair in an old-fashioned German-style called a “double braid.” The style originated in 17th century Europe and has never gone out of fashion.

To create this soft and feminine hairstyle, you simply take two small braids, weave them together on either side of your head, and then let them cascade down over your shoulders.

  • Short curls

Many layered hairstyles are made for people with a lot of hair to work with. But don’t worry if you have short hair. Curls will still make your look more interesting.

To get a natural-looking curl, start at the front of your head and wrap a small section of hair around a curling iron. Smoothly alternate which side you curl from one section to the next.

  • Bonnet

Bonnets are a classic Oktoberfest accessory. They’re still worn today, though not as often as top hats. But, if you want a hairstyle that’s quick to do and doesn’t require curling irons or clear elastics, just throw on a bonnet. People will understand.

There are many options when it comes to choosing a hairstyle for Oktoberfest. You can choose the traditional bonnet or pigtails, or you could create a new look using the braiding formula. Just remember that whatever you choose should embody the spirit of this festive event!

Dirndl for Sale

You can pair your dirndl dress with a beautiful white or black cotton blouse. Your dirndl bouse may be embellished with the beautiful small decent laces. Next comes your shoes; always wear comfortable shoes like Oktoberfest pumps or some boots so you can hang over all the day long without getting tired.

There are many great hairstyles for dirndl dresses, but you should choose them very carefully and try to stick with their traditional look. The high buns and elegant laces go together perfectly and will make a stunning contrast to your costume. Choose shapes that look stylish and decent while holding on to the traditional feel of a true German Dirndl dress.
